Coverage For Rental Car Reimbursement
Car insurance rental reimbursement is an optional coverage that will either fully or partially cover the cost of a vehicle you rent to drive while your damaged auto is repaired or replaced. A standard rental reimbursement agreements usually pay out something on the order of $25 - $35 per day and and $600 - $800 per accident. Premiums are generally quite low, but so is the risk of using a rental car for more than one or two days in a year.
Important Tip: Rental Reimbursement Does Not Insure Your Actual Rental Car
Remember, it’s up to you to properly ensure your rental car—either through your rental provider, additional coverage with your own insurance company, or through other insurance agreements such as a clause in your American Express card.
